Smoky Irish Pubs, a neighborhood Pub, filled with talk, chatter and a poet in the back stall penning words to paper. Our series of desert wines, called the Poet's Choice, captures those moments of contemplation and bliss.
Joyce's Preoccupation is a white port. "A white port? I've never seen a white port", most people will say. And I in my usual response say, "That's because it's usually hidden in a brown paper bag on a street corner somewhere". True, but this is a white port made from one varietal grape our Sauvignon Blanc, not from any old juice like pear, apple or table grapes. And the fresh port is aged in beautiful new oak to capture that kiss of the barrel, a toasty vanillin flavor with adds so much to this rich elixir.
The warm, rich, smooth sensation and mellow flavors lend themselves to pairing with warm roasted nuts, rich creamy cheeses (such as blue-viened bries, cheese logs, soft goat cheese), fruits (such as ripe pears, apples, white peaches and the like) and milk chocolates. Joyce's Preoccupations can easily find its way into one of your preoccupations like a little time snuggling round the fireside.
