The whole idea of Beyond Green in its purest form is a statement of awareness and a commitment of action to life with minimum impacts on earth. Beyond Green is not a goal with an end zone or a finish line; it’s a process of both learning and making decisions everyday that not only minimize one’s impacts but benefits the Earth and life upon and within it.
Without entering a monastic style life of vows of minimalism and devoting fulltime personal energies toward such a lifestyle, most of us have to live, work and survive in our surreal world(s), a chaotic world that exerts tremendous impacts on our earth, some with devastating consequences. Short of writing a book on the complex subject, I simply needed to lay a foundation of understanding from which to proceed figuratively and literally. There is an immense pendulum of possibilities of where one can find themselves and begin a path of Going Green.
The first step we can all do is Shop like we mean it. Don’t just talk the talk, walk the walk. Buy products, support services, invest your hard-earned cash with family businesses and companies that truly are delivering Green Earth-Friendly alternatives to the norm. Beware of Green products that are little more than self-proclaimed eco-buzz words graphically highlighted on their labels. A good consumer is a well informed consumer. And as I stated above this is a process of learning and making the best choices you can at the time. Next time a certain product may not make the Green cut because you know more and realize there are better choices out there to make. So in once sense don’t beat yourself up for making bad decisions sometimes, just keep progressing and let your decisions reflect your ever-more-focusing knowledge of what Going Green really can become in your life. Together we can make progress and hand-over Earth a little better for our children and grandchildren.
That being said I want to share with you how we, Fitzpatrick Winery & Lodge have progressed Beyond Green and how we really ask you to support our lifelong efforts and commitment to producing this most civilized beverage in a most responsible way. We’re not perfect, far from it, but when we make advances in our knowledge of Earth-Friendly practices we incorporate those practices and principles and stick with it with commitment for over 30 years now.
